Chino Espinoza Y Los Dueños Del Son

Vocalist Mirley Espinoza, known by his fellows musicians as "Chino El Sonero", was born in the city of Alajuela, Costa Rica, on July 22, 1967.

In the early 90's he recorded and released his first CD for Warner Brothers as the lead vocal of the "Opa-Opa" band. In addition, Chino has had to opportunity to participate musically, with other top musical groups, including the Malibu Salsa All Stars, The L.A. Jazz All Stars, The RMM All Stars Band and the "Tito Puente with the Eddy Palmieri" Tribute Orchestra.

Chino has been featured on many recordings, including: Bobby Rivas, Bolivia, Mojaditicos, Pete Escobedo, Bette Midler, Los Del Barrio, and Rumba Grande. For many years Chino was also the lead singer for the Los Angeles based Orchestra Son Mayor. In addition to his studio work, Chino has also been privileged to perform with many touring orchestras accompanying artists as: Celia Cruz, Eddy Santiago, Rey Sepulveda, Tito Puente Jr, Tito Gomez, Jesus Enriquez, Miles Pena, Many Manuel, Domingo Quinonez, Tony Vega, Hernan Oliveira, Michael Steward and Jerry Medina.

As an actor, Chino has appeared in many productions, most recently, the PBS series ¬°American Families¬° where he acted along with Edward James Olmos and Raquel Whelch. Chino also appears as himself with "Los Dueños Del Son" in the new Eddie Murphy movie "Starship Dave". He has also done various television commercials including the very popular Dr. Pepper commercial with Mexican artist, Thalia.

Present

Chino currently resides in Los Angeles and together with Dimelo! Records has assembled a new big band salsa orchestra named "Los Dueños Del Son". The band is lead by Chino's brother Cesar Espinoza "El Timbalero Del Barrio". "Pura Vida" was the first release under this dream team authority, and took the Salsa Community by storm! After a tremendous run with "Pura Vida", Dimelo! Records has released Chino's production "Maria"; Espinoza's second commercially released studio album produced by Hector Manuel Rivera. This amazing New Release consists of a collection of tailored picked tracks that will make all Salsa music aficionados, and diehard dancers, scream for more. From revisited classic tracks to hard salsa, cha cha chas, and Los Angelesque style breaks and arrangements, "Maria" is a fresh new release with Chino's trademark sound well embedded.
